• Commercial Leasing Legal Assistant

  We have an opportunity within our expanding Commercial Leasing practice group. We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Leasing Legal Assistant.
  
  Your key responsibilities:

  • Process and revise electronic documents, edit, and prepare blacklining.
  • Docket entry, pre-bill, and account preparation using PC Law.
  • Practice management, including appointment scheduling and arranging conference calls.
  • Apply proofreading and editing skills to documents and correspondence.
  • Digital and physical file management and keeping clerks/lawyers apprised of matters.
  • Perform other duties as required to achieve firm objectives.

  To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Strong communication skills
  • A post-secondary education
  • Some knowledge of corporate or commercial leasing transactions or a strong willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with various legal documents including agreements, leases, letters, is an asset
  • Experience with MS Office, Workshare, PC Law

  This position will be working in the office full time.

• Commercial Leasing Associate Lawyer

  We have an opportunity within our expanding Commercial Leasing practice group. 

  Responsibilities

  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide array of commercial leasing documents.
  • Advise developers, lenders, property and asset managers, landlords, and tenants on all types of office, industrial, and retail commercial leasing matters.
  • Develop creative solutions to appropriately move leasing transactions forward and sustain competitive advantage for our clients.
  • Play an active role in building and maintaining the firm’s client base.
  • Play an active role in building and maintaining the firm's presence in the legal industry and real estate industry (including participating in speaking at conferences, writing articles, and attending industry events).

   

  Qualifications

  The ideal candidate:

  • has at least four (4) consecutive years’ post-call experience in commercial leasing transactions and related documents;
  • can demonstrate a proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships;
  • shows superior organizational skills and detail orientation;
  • uses sound judgment, manages conflicting priorities, and works collaboratively;
  • is an innovative, value-minded thinker;
  • is proficient with the integration of technology and practice management tools;
  • is resourceful and a diplomatic problem solver; and
  • is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
