In Canada, relocation rights were introduced into commercial leases sometimes around the mid-1980's . Since then, we have seen some litigation concerning the exercise by landlords of these relocation rights. The decisions in these cases tend to suggest that the courts will enforce the clauses faithfully with their wording.
